The Internet really radicalized me on freedom of information. There existed a time when gatekeeping knowledge meant job security, and there are old farts who STILL refuse to teach or train the next generation for fear of becoming irrelevant.
I view that action as morally evil, akin to deadman-switching the library of Alexandria. Only someone with a deep-seated hatred of civilization and the future would lock away useful information about the world unless it was genuinely dangerous to uncover ie. memetic thought demons or easy bioterrorism procedures. The fact we were born in such an odd time in history where we can legitimately research anything is so undervalued. The fact that so few take advantage of it is an endictment of the very character of humanity.

@veff easy bioterrorism procedures (becoming a vtuber)
anyway there's nothing wrong with gatekeeping knowledge at work, rember that all companies will kick you to the curb in an instant if they think they can make a penny doing so.
