     When Andrew Jackson was a Federal Judge, a criminal failed to appear. He issued a bench warrant and directed the deputy marshals to apprehend the perp. The deputy marshals refused because the perp was "too violent," so Andrew Jackson walked into chambers, grabbed his coat and his gun, and apprehended the guy himself.
