   I've been postponing upgrading my InfluxDB v1 to v2 for months. When I finally decide to do it, I realize there is v3, but lots of people recommend to just stay on v1 (v2 has always been considered a bad idea anyway).

   Now I have no idea what to do, and it will take a few other months to come up with a decision. 😄

     Right. I know I don't want v2 anymore because it uses a different query language that has not continued to v3. But I still don't know what else might be interesting to justify the migration.

     @badnetmask unless you REALLY need a feature on 2.0/3.0, stay in 1.0 at some point it will be left alone and picked up by a FOSS project for sure

     It stores all host metrics from Telegraf, and long term historical data from Home Assistant.

     Telegraf is a lot simpler, and uses less resources. Besides, my home lab is not K8s, so Prometheus just "doesn't feel right". Choices.

     @badnetmask any reasons to chose telegraf over prometheus? Just curious as I haven't used telegraf before.
