I'm working on a Instagram Import refactor!
It's a huge improvement, here are some highlights:
- One-click "delete existing import" to remove existing imported posts
- Imported posts are now public instead of unlisted
- We now support all media formats (video too)
- Auto import mode
- Optional archived post import
- Optional self comment import
- Optional public story import
- Optional follower discovery
- Optimized backend processing
- Intelligent Incremental Updates

@bh a zip is what you upload for the import, you need to request the export in JSON format

@dansup unfortunately my instagram import is in a zip file — does that work or did I need to export to .json before I deleted my account? 😢

@dansup have you considered an feature where you can find people you follow on insta who also have used the import feature by associating the pixelfed account with the imported insta account. (opt-in of course)
