Well, well, well - it seems that somebody in the Trump regime understands the thin ice Noem, Bondi, and the other defendants in D.V.D. v. DHS et al are on. Several days ago I wrote about one of the plaintiffs, O.C.G., who DHS sent to Mexico, without any notice or hearing as to his fear for his safety there. For the first time I know of in any of the litigation over the Trump regime’s mass deportation efforts, the Trump regime seems not to be stalling or evading. The status report indicates that ICE is actually working to bring O.C.G. back to the U.S. They contacted his lawyers, did the necessary paperwork, and are arranging a flight back to the U.S. on a chartered aircraft. 3/
Noting that it appeared that defendants or their DOJ attorneys had twice misrepresented facts about the buildup to O.C.G.’s removal, Judge Murphy ordered DHS and the other defendants to bring O.C.G. back to the U.S. and to submit a status report on this to the court within 5 days of his order. Late today, the Trump regime did. Document at https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.282404/gov.uscourts.mad.282404.143.0_1.pdf 2/
