   people complain ai dev sucks cause it's just reviewing shitty jr dev code which is true but id rather be reviewing shitty jr dev code by an unthinking machine than some zoomer who will talk back or get offended

     @earslash yeah new college grads are fucked. I'm specifically learning about all this AI stuff, not just because it's part of my job, but because I suspect being good at using it is going to be a required skill for sr engineers going forward

     @anemone @earslash you can't really work at senior dev level with just AI though, it's just not possible. but this is an industry famous for "must have 5 years experience in (1 year old tool)"

     that said fi im honest, ai is not very good at coding yet, however it's good enough it's often taught me about tools or techniques I wasn't aware of. it ends up being kind of like a weird type of search where you find stuff by just telling it what you want to do
