Given the great interest that I got yesterday for my post about a low carbon day on Britain’s electricity grid I thought I’d share a post emphasising just how much wind power has to be wasted because the system doesn’t yet have the configuration to be able to use it all. This month alone the grid operator has had to pay wind farm operators £41.5 million to turn down their output.
