   Red state patriots have short memories, but who can blame them? It's as Fox News intended.

   First meant to insult the colonists, it became a return sneer:

   "Yankee Doodle came to town
   Riding on a pony
   Stuck a feather in his cap
   And called it macaroni

   Yankee Doodle, keep it up
   Yankee Doodle dandy
   Mind the music, and the step
   And with the girls be handy"

   I haven't thought of that historic protest song in years. Was it "a-riding on a pony?" Who can recall? That one's so old, it even predates the GOP.
