which tool should i develop today?
i'm thinking about one that uses JTAG boundary scan to help you discover the pinout of boards you reverse engineer
basically, you probe a board with a flywire, and glasgow tells you which of the FPGA (or whatever) pins you are touching by driving the flywire with a unique waveform and then correlating it with the device pin captures using INTEST

the only thing this would miss is voice input that lets you dictate your finds into a spreadsheet, but that's probably easy to do with `glasgow script` externally

@whitequark there was this one thing i heard where someone wrote a bitstream to an fpga to have every pin blast out its own name in UART but i can't find it

i have it working :D :D
i touched a pin with my multimeter and here it showed up in the BSCAN register (andn'd with the list of every pin that toggles when idle)

the next steps are to parse the BSDL file for this device (ugh) and to map the position of this 1 into a pin name

wrote a BSDL parser! (none of the two existing Python ones are quite good enough to depend on in Glasgow)
