AIPAC has targeted progressive Democratic incumbents for opposition in recent elections, disproportionately impacting POC.

The forces of centrist mediocrity tried this in 2024 with perpetual local political creepazoid Don Samuels, but it very much did •not• fly.
They tried it with the same guy in 2020 as well, and that time it got close — mostly because Omar wasn’t paying much attention to the primary. There was very much a sense from her after that of “they won’t catch me asleep at the switch again.”
With full AIPAC guns pointed at her, well…who know, but she is very much ready to fight. And a whole hell of a lot of us in her district are going to have her back. She did not win this district by accident.

That they are. Don Samuels is also Black, but…how can I put this?…he is the sort of Black politician who’s made a whole career out of certain white people being very pleased to hear certain things that comfort them coming out of a Black man’s mouth. You know the type.

That, and also there’s a kind of narcotic feeling to being provisionally allowed guest “white” status: think Clarence Thomas, or Bill Cosby scolding Black kids for wearing droopy pants. It’s that kind of vibe.
