@bazcook So you're definitely downloading the Intel version from the website? (As Apple Silicon is the default CPU choice – there's no way to auto-detect.) Can you post a screenshot of the message you receive when you try to install the Intel version on your 2017 Air?
@libreoffice - don't know about 25.8, as I'm having no success with installing 25.2.3 (Intel) on my 2017 MacBook Air running Monterey. Just keep getting the window saying it can't install. Even tried Silicon version with (obviously) same result. Tried other mirrors. Same result. Argh. An experiment - downloaded Silicon version onto my M2 Mini and install process opened without issue. Thoughts?
@bazcook At a loss too – that's not one we've seen before either, "Operation not permitted". Does the same thing happen with any other .dmg files saved in the same place?
@libreoffice - nope. LibreOffice gets to be the first! All app downloads have always been sent to Downloads folder before installation. Started installation from there. And before you ask - tried saving it to Desktop and then installing from there. Same issue. Again, downloading Silicon version onto my M2 Mini (into Download Folder) and it activated the install without issue. Same browser (Firefox) and all other internet / Wi-Fi settings, too.
