The last few years I have spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about if the revolutionary war and the innumerable deaths it causedwas really as needed as I was taught it was. Brits don't seem particularly less free than Americans, but I am not sure how having lost to the Americans affected how they interacted with other colonies.
