   i absolutely hate all modern desktop environments. i still use LXDE. but the LXDE package in debian is *old*. so i'm compiling LXDE from source, from latest repo.

   and once that's done, i will have a development repo to tweak with. and i want LWDE.

   yes. LXDE ported to wayland. i refuse to update. I like my LXDE just the way I have it.

   i hate how everything in linux changes for no reason. so i will use my rights under open source licensing to fight change, one line at a time.

   i hate change.

     @libreleah not sure what exactly that entails, but there is a wayland compositor inspired by openbox: https://github.com/labwc/labwc. i imagine that a LWDE could be built on top of that.

     LXDE was the first desktop environment i ever used. i choose lubuntu because i didn't really understand why someone would choose a desktop environment that used more resources.

     even though i eventually moved onto i3 and then sway, LXDE and openbox still have a special place in my heart :blobcatmeltlove:
