    New word proposition: Botsplain

When you ask a question and instead of genuinely trying to answer or simply admitting "I don't know" someone asks a generative AI and feed you that garbage answer against your consent.

@Em0nM4stodon Any time someone tells me something not immediately obvious, I ask for sources and citations. Most of the time their sources are not even Large Language Models, but they still can't answer it.

At that point, I usually just say: "And what am I supposed to do with this contextless, sourceless, unverified statement?".

@Em0nM4stodon I've been using botsplaining for a while now – usually in response to emails where someone has clearly just dumped my email asking a question into an llm. Love the word
