     I mean, they basically are the official community, the only thing "unofficial" about the discord in question is that Alex himself doesn't run it like the forums. And he's sided with them on some pretty egregious shit, like when one of them (HarmfulMechanic IIRC), withdrew permission to use "his code" after helping another modder, all because the two got in a dumb fight. Alex banned the other guy when he said he wasn't gonna do that.

     I mean, the guy who got banned wasn't the one who started it. Can't do much when someone comes in demanding you cut out huge parts of your mod for "interfering with his mod" (it was a portrait replacer mod that started everything IIRC). 🤷
