     GI illnesses and autoimmune disease are very common in people in abusive relationships. I'm sure the constant flood of dopamine and cortisol contribute to the body falling apart

     @lillyfinch @GottaLaff My dad was one of the few he knew who made it to retirement....several of the people he worked with died of the same GI cancer he did - which spread throughout their bodies. The radar? Sitting at those screens all day? I just always thought it was one of the coolest jobs...when he took me into the center a few times I was amazed looking at all those blips on the screen.

     @GottaLaff I was an air traffic controller back in late 70s and early 80s. The story at Newark of one maybe two controllers with a trainee handling traffic at that high density airport for several hours is just horrifying. People do not understand that ATC suffer delayed stress as a result of that kind of pressure.That is why so many of them are out on mental leave.

     I should have been clearer. My bad

     I'd imagine the stress of being an air traffic controller is similar to the bodily stress one experiences in an abusive relationship
