     I know what you mean about a manual transmission... The engine and body on the crv have 280K miles... the trans has around 120K. Many other things have been replaced over the past few years.

     Manuals are almost unkillable... I have looked for about a month and am picking up an FJ Cruiser with 80K miles with a 6 speed manual tomorrow evening.

     my first car was an 89 acura integra. Ran great but the automatic transmission started downshifting for a second or two and then upshifting again when i was on the freeway.
     
     Every car ive owned since then has been a manual transmission where I tell it what gear its going to be in.

     The last emblem to get the red treatment will be the CR-V on the back.

     Project CRV is coming along nicely. Getting it ready to car camp on some upcoming trips this summer.

     Yeah, if I were to get a wrangler it would be 2005 or older, they dropped their bullet proof straight 6 in wranglers 2006 and up.

     I sold it before I went to Law School. I needed something more comfortable and dependable for cross-country drives (I've driven across the U.S. six times). For short haul, it'll last forever.
