   @landley @r Yeah, retaining UP-only 486 would be perfectly fine. SMP 486 was very niche.

     @r @dalias In SMP it's hard. In UP less so. (And they already had it _working_. Deciding they no longer wanted to support SMP on 486 is very different from dropping support for the architecture entirely.)
