   is gnu make suited to running arbitrary commands? no. is it annoying to write a makefile? yes. will I install "just" or whatever the fuck just to save you the hassle of writing a makefile? no. write a bash script

     i have a beef with people who expect me to install a special command runner to run their linter or test suite or whatever. just put your shit in a makefile everyone has make it comes free with your xbox
