France and Germany will set up a Defense and Security Council, President Macron announced.

During a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, President Macron said that it will meet regularly "to provide operational solutions to our shared strategic challenges."

The Franco-German defense partnership will also include the development of new weapons such as combat aircraft and long-range missiles.
