Holy shit. Ed Zitron had been dragging Casey Newton as the posterboy for lousy journalistic standards in the tech press for months. I found his arguments pretty on point and my own image of Newton was in free fall already.

But in the last "better offline" pod, Zitron casually mentions that NEWTON BOYFRIEND ACTUALLY WORKS FOR ANTHROPIC. Casey Newton, one of the main cheerleaders for the AI industry in the mainstream press, is dating someone working in one of the main AI companies. And no one bats an eye and he keeps selling how bright the AI future is to the masses from the New York Times.

Zoe Quinn would be rolling in her grave (if she was dead)(which it is thankfully not the case) (leave me alone, I don't know how to finish this) (but I feel the fact there isn't thousands of rat-boys going after Newton as they were after Quinn is pretty significant)
