The Israeli military is preparing to expand and intensify its assault in Gaza as it calls up tens of thousands of reservists.

Under the plan, the military said it would operate in new areas and "destroy all infrastructure" above and below ground.

The announcement follows growing international pressure on Tel Aviv to lift the total food and aid blockade it imposed two months ago.
