    If I have correctly understood what I've been reading lately (typically in the middle of the night, so the human error factor is high), large fish typically have more heavy metals, but now small fish are typically higher in #microplastics.

    Is there a goldilocks zone for safest fish size for human consumption?

    *Don't be a dreary vegan & say "stop eating fish!" in my mentions. I'm looking at this from the POV of public health & global food supply, not individual food choices. 1/2

      @alxlg There's also the amount of modern slavery and human trafficking involved in the fishing industry. Or the plastic pollution caused by discarded fishing nets.

      Just take inspiration from "individual food choices" and suggest being #vegan "from the POV of public health & global food supply" too.

      @ShaulaEvans #vegan is NOT an individual food choice but an ethical lifestyle to avoid as much animal exploitation as even possible.

      Fish are not food. And based on reason, leaving fish in the sea/water is the best choice for the environment.

      You like to have the 'benefits' of eating fish? Eat algae. That's what's making fish healthy. You just skip them & the heavy metals stored in their fat.

      So if you consider it individual or just sane: #goVegan is the best choice for all beings

      @ChrisWere

      Yeah, there is a documentary, Seaspiracy (2021), that you may want to watch if you haven't.
