    Happy National Telephone Day!
Instead of continually chasing upgrades, what if we kept our smartphones for 5 years? How about 10?

That’s the mission we’re on with Back Market:
    🛠️ Fix it.
    ♻️ Pass it on.
📵 Say no to planned obsolescence.

Because the most sustainable phone is the one you already own. Read more about our 10-year phone mission here: https://www.ifixit.com/News/109306/fix-it-then-pass-it-on-ifixit-joins-forces-with-back-market

@ytc1@mastodon.sdf.org @iFixit@mastodon.social Go to your local hackerspace. There's probably someone there who knows how to replace a phone screen.

@iFixit IME most phone breaks are the screen, it is then a case of weighing up the cost of repairing or replacing the phone.

I'm game to try out screen replacement, but prefer not to engine costly trial and error.

Maybe we need a 21st century version of PC clubs? But aimed at teaching phone repairs?
