     @kaia Structured dancing is an overwhelmingly female interest and of the few men that do join, most do it because a girl dragged them to it.
     Conversely, dancing is probably the best activity for a single man trying to meet women. Just not a particularly appealing one without someone to do it with, which beats the earlier point, since it's the kind of thing that's as daunting for a man to do without company as walking into a random construction site is for a woman.
     
     I'm not sure what the appeal of dancing is for a woman, being a man myself, but to us it's usually only fun if it's to share it with a girl we like, and as a way to get her time spent on us on a physical activity that's not inappropiate. Personally I've only ever done it as such, other than traditional dancing events for national holidays.
     
     The other small percent of men are just extremely into it and will likely become dance professors or musicians or scammers (or already are, I have both among my cousins)

     I am playing around with the thought of learning to dance (sounds fun and like a good skill to have) but like you said, it's really daunting to try alone
