Yet To Come by BTS reverberated the PA system speaker hooked to the lobby ceiling, making it pulsate even as the latest Moderna booster circulated through her frail, lacerated veins and washed away her (merited) fear of the virus. "With a mask, you can breathe anywhere you want" she said to herself, out loud.

     NHK is not public TV because they are mafia, Japanese must pay money for NHK but we don't watch NHK.

     So NHK is public TV, because it's literally a government owned propaganda machine AND an extortion racket (pay NHK tax, 4000 yen per TV tuner enabled device a month).

     @ryo @JapanAnon @Misato I remember when some NHK dude came to my house and wanted to make me pay for an NHK TV loicense or some shit, arguing that it's the law and stuff and that police could be called, I almost did because I don't really care about a bit of money, but that would've been admission of having a device apparently or something.
     
     Felt like an Englishman for a minute, very terrible feeling.

     @Claude @JapanAnon @Misato I simply deleted my TV and called them up confirming that I no longer have a TV.
     So I did it a bit more diplomatically but meh, doesn't matter.
     
     Everything I want to watch can be downloaded from nyaa.si just as easily, and the only thing that can't be downloaded (re-runs of DBZ) used to be available as DVD rentals, and now I have the same story as manga, so I have 0 reasons to watch TV.
