   Bazzite DX has been chosen as my new desktop distro, and it's already up and running. So far, so good.

   Why? Because my personal laptop is a Razer with an NVIDIA RTX, and Bazzite is focused on this kind of hardware, so I really doubt anyone would break the video drivers. 🤣

   And, by the way, this is the first time that I'm running a Linux distro spin. Also, back on the immutable distro, which was not fun a few years ago, but I'm willing to try this again.

   Worst case scenario, I can always rpm-ostree rebase to something else. 😉

     First interesting finding about Bazzite: when I first tried an rpm-ostree based distro a few years back (Fedora Silverblue), there wasn't anything to manage the installation of command line tools, like Flatpak does for graphical tools.

     Now I just found out that Homebrew runs on Linux. I thought it was exclusive for Mac, but if that's what's gonna make my life easier, then I'll give it a try.

     Second interesting thing about Bazzite: the "System Update" command (aka "ujust update") is a pretty convenient way to update (almost) everything.

     One big issue I had with immutable OSes in the past was the complexity of having to update rpm-ostree, flatpak, pip, etc, all manually. It seems like "ujust update" (which in turn runs "topgrade" in the backend) deals with (almost) everything for you.

     Apparently the only thing missing is updating the packages installed via Homebrew. But I'll keep poking around to figure out how to add it.

     Nope. Ignore what I said above. Homebrew IS included.

     Neat!

     I feel like I just ventured into a new era of Linux that was hidden by my laziness of looking around for new solutions. 😄

     I still haven't gotten to that point yet.

     But what do you do with that? Do you open your terminal window straight on Toolbox, or you only go into it when needed?

     @badnetmask I use toolbox for command line tools. I have quay.io build me new version if I change my application setup or if I want to upgrade the distro within the toolbox. But you likely knew this already. I find it handy. I have similar rhel and fedora toolboxes if I need different versions of cmnd line tools.
