    Doge’s cuts fall far, far short of Musk’s wild claims. I appreciate the BBC doing this analysis: it’s important to contrast promises with reality when dealing with con artists.

    Please note: these are •cuts•, not “savings.” They’re cutting programs that save or generate more money than they cost. Musk is •increasing• US debt with this unconstitutional nonsense.

      Reducing debt was never the point, obviously.

      This is about grabbing data and grabbing power. It’s not cost-cutting; it’s a coup.

      I assume because otherwise it would be hard to put the initial promise in the current result on the same scale and have the ladder even be legible. Which I’m sure is the point you’re making, but this is not a completely unreasonable dataviz approach to comparing numbers spanning many orders of magnitude.
