It's not just that Larry David continues to be funny while Bill Maher stopped being funny more than a decade ago. It's that self-deprecation is Larry's kryptonite. There's a bit in Curb where Larry steals shoes from a Holocaust Memorial. What joke can Bill make at Larry's expense that punches harder than that?
