Europeans won't defend anything except the metric system.
You can talk about anything, but don't talk about the metric system.
That is the ONE thing they will defend until the death, more so than their heritage.

@Invictus I was just talking about this with a coworker yesterday. We had to convert units on a spec from gallons to liters for a customer in Europe. Everyone else is fine with gallons, but god forbid if you send someone in France something that isn’t in liters, you’d think the Germans were invading.
@SirSeanofSlovakia @Invictus Metric isn’t particularly good for objects of rotation; Base10 hasn’t got any real relationship to round curvy things, so it’s a really arbitrary imposition in that domain. If the number base were some power of 2, however, it’d be a different story.
@Invictus as an ex-pat who has lived in Europe for the last 18 years I can totally understand their passion for Commie Calculations over Freedom Numbers.
Metric is easy and makes sense.
