The Shepherd's Crown resonates with me because it was Pratchett's last book, published after he died, and also, written (long) after he'd *learned* how how he would die -- of a rare form of Alzheimer's.
But The Shepherd's Crown hit me also because it concludes story arcs started by other Pratchett books. You might want to read some of these before. Those arcs would be the Tiffany Aching one and the Witches one.
