It is a very good morning to Sinhala-speaking #Emacs users! You can now switch to #Sinhala (Wijesekara keyboard) from inside Emacs using Emacs keybindings without depending on the operating system's input methods and keybindings. Simply download sinhala-wijesekara.el and add it to your configuration file.

Hopefully it will eventually join the rest of the input methods included in the official release https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Select-Input-Method.html

@lohang if you have signed the FSF paperwork, it will be very easy get this included in Emacs 31. I submitted some Urdu input methods while Emacs 30 was in development and it was a very straightforward process. Maintainers want to cover as many languages as they can get volunteers for.
