   One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco at the moment is Yemeni Kabab & Mediterranean near Market & Taylor.

   The traditional haneeth, kabsa and mandi plates are excellent. The mezzes are fantastic. Thry have very affordable lunch plates too, and I love the tea they offer. One of those small homey places with seriously good food and vibes.

   It’s much better than restaurants in that category that cost 2x more.

     The Yemeni population in San Francisco, Oakland and Fremont is small but significant. They run many of our grocery stores and now, increasingly our coffee shops and restaurants too.

     I'm a big fan: I love the food the most (most Malay and Indonesian Arab food *is* Yemeni-derived) so there are lots of similar flavors that remind me of home.

     I appreciate you using "at this moment". I have also been trying to use this phrase as of lately for many things. For me I think its coming from my meditation practice and trying to practice living in the present moment in my day to day life.

     @darkuncle I don’t love the food scene round there but I can think of: AyDea cafe (Tartarian pastries), Delah Coffee, Sana‘’a Cafe, Beyond Cafe, Pie Punks, D&N Hot Wings, Northern China BBQ

     If you can do ferry building / Chinatown it’s much better and lmk then

     @skinnylatte now that I'm back on here, and will be in SF for almost all of next week ... what are some good recommendations for stuff within say 15 min walk of Moscone Center? I like basically everything, but especially Mediterranean and Middle Eastern stuff. I mean, this one looks pretty close so it's definitely on the list …
