Wild chimpanzees have been filmed sharing alcohol-laced breadfruit, suggesting that human pub culture may have evolutionary roots. The boozing beasts in Guinea-Bissau chose the most over-ripe – and therefore alcoholic – fruit, and bonded over sharing it between them.
