Other than the local food, the most local food most Singaporeans in the U.S. go for immediately upon landing is Singapore McDonalds (much much better than whatever we get here, we are always sad about this)

@willie1foot the local food is super common and we can have them for other meals. The international fast food is actually decent and has to compete with street food. The AC and 24/7 fast food joints are also study / date places. I wouldn’t say it’s an either or, it’s just another type of food option, no better or worse

@skinnylatte My experience when working in Singapore was the locals preferred all the American style fast food whilst we visitors couldn’t get enough of the hawker centre food. My observations here in Australia, working in a large University, are that international students have the same preference… McDonalds, Subway, Hungry Jacks (Burger King) are very popular.
