It's WrestleMania weekend, and it's noticeable how WWE (formerly the WWF) are increasingly name-dropping their disgraced ex-boss Vince McMahon. Are they thinking his friend Donald Trump can help stamp out his legal woes? Vince's longtime business partner and estranged wife Linda is helping Trump destroy the Department of Education, and her son-in-law Paul "Triple H" Levesque accompanied her at her Senate confirmation hearing for Secretary of Education while currently running WWE in his father-in-law's absence. Just hours ago he was inducted into WWE's own Hall of Fame that inducted Trump himself several years ago for his involvement with WrestleMania's IV and V and outrageous on-screen storylines that developed his petty approach to debate. What do you bet they can bring back Vince in time to go into the Hall of Fame next year.

A reminder that "Cancel Culture" (formerly known as consequences, or accountability) is a modern myth. For additional evidence from the world of pro wrestling itself, just look to Hall of Famers such as racist Hulk Hogan, homophobic Ultimate Warrior, or sexist Ric Flair, to name just a few. It's a myth created to shed accountability and avoid consequences. Hey, that's partly why we have people like Trump.

@MediaActivist There’s something to explore about kayfabe, politics, and the blurred lines between “just playing a role”, actually believing in the role/story, and believing that success through riling up an audience is all that really matters.
