   @emacsomancer @loke When you compare "Emacs" to "Lisp Machine" then it also makes perfect sense to make the distinction between the idea of the text editor, and a computer system. What is the point of words when they are watered down to mean absolutely nothing and everything at the same time.

   #GNU #Emacs is an ersatz #LispMachine, with a more than lovely #Emacs editor.

     @emacsomancer The big problem with #GNU #Emacs is that people confuse these things, and add things that are inherently _NOT_ part of #Emacs the text editor. Like mail readers, debuggers, web browsers, VC control systems -- they are nothing to do with the editor, #Emacs. They are separate programs, unrelated.
