@emu i was thinking the browser itself could just do the cookie prompts. it's not like you can store cookies without the browser accepting them in the end (and there were already ways to control cookie acceptances, they were just buried.)

@icedquinn We (actually, only Firefox) tried with DNT and now GPC, but a lot of major websites simply ignore those signals and force cookie prompts onto users.
I hate advertisers so god damn much....

@emu this would have been instead of making some dumbass law criminalizing setting the cookie header without adding obnoxious shit to the website
the browser coulda just, y'know, said something instead of every website.

@icedquinn That'd be a great idea but the hardest part would be to get websites to adopt it since a lot of websites benefit from annoying people with cookie prompts (to get them to blindly accept whatever tracking they've set up)
