    The lightbulbs at Sony decide to make Europe and UK pay for Trump’s tariffs. It’s probably a good idea to make an example of them so no one else dares pull this crap.

      @hyde We have a six-year-old Sony bravia kd-65a1 – lovely design/screen (they discontinued that design for some reason. Their new TVs are ugly.)

      Hate that it’s Android (it has never been updated; I’ve never allowed it to connect to the Internet).

      Still going strong so 🤞

      @aral I wont buy Sony's products anymore anyway. I have an Android TV, a Sony Bravia, that stopped working.

      Looking online I found that many of their Bravia models have the same issue.

      One guy from the US (https://www.youtube.com/@NicksTVRepair) repair them, but I'm Europe.

      Apparently, it's only an EEPROM that got fried... and, it happens a looooot on those, expensive, models.

      Anyway, I'll probably buy a video projector ... one day, but not a Sony one!

      @dzwiedziu I don’t think that’s the audience. I have a PS5 because I want to switch off my brain and play a game without worrying about the tech :)

      (Got the portal recently and I’m almost entirely using that now. Such a lovely experience. Basically only use the TV if the portal’s run out of juice while playing my latest time sink, Metaphor: ReFantazio.)

      @aral
      PSA: you can cobble up a simple computer from a corporate desktop (like Dell Optiplex, HP $NUMBER, Levovo ThonkStation) secondhand for a relatively low cost and for a similarly relative low cost of upgrades make a low-spec gaming PC.
