We used to, on rare occasion, send police to contact patients at home to ask them to please come to the hospital to address some serious health issue (usually something like a positive TB test in a patient with no listed phone number, or someone who left against medical advice and was found to have an emergently life threatening infection but we couldn’t get ahold of them). No fucking way am I sending people in uniform to a home for a health issue now. Give someone a heart attack…
