   The problem with the "defund the police" movement was the fact that most of them are drones that are well attuned to their training. Defunding the police doesn't help. Changing the laws, enforcing existing laws and adjusting the critical parts of the system so those drones work correctly is what reduces crime, dangerous social deviance, etc. (an example that actually _worked_, and I use that term loosely as there are still problems, was cannabis decriminalization and legalization).
   
   In the United Kingdom, police don't even bother to check their massive CCTV cameras for basic vehicle, bike and phone thefts:

     @cowanon I knew a guy who graduated at the top of his class at the academy and he and the other top classmates had to wait for 6 years while they hired all the mediocre retards before him. He ended up in some shitty job as a Downey CA Police Officer, and quit after 18 months to sell real estate.
