Hey folks, some of us came here to get away from toxic algorithms, but not all algorithms are bad. For example, hit that “Explore” entry over in your right sidebar (it goes by other names in other Fediverse clients). Nothing fancy, just summarizes the currently-trending Posts, Hashtags, People, and News. “News” is trending links from Fediverse posts to anything on the Web. A decent quick simple ad-free snapshot of what’s going on in the world.
