On another note: For reasons I decided to go with Linux for my current contract — and it’s surprisingly okay to work with. Sure, compared to the lickable macOS it’s ugly as hell, but it was the most straight forward way to setup a local development environment for an … interesting setup.

I am annoyed that every major computer manufacturer is going down the AI-route. I don’t give a shit about that Copilot-key, I consider it a waste of keyboard-space. I don’t give a fuck about the AI-performance of the CPU and AI-crap in software is the first thing I usually turn off.

Truth to be told: When I bought that computer, I didn’t expect to heavily work on it 😅 But here we are now.
I’m thinking about getting a Framework 13 or a Thinkpad T14 Gen 4. Any opinions or suggestions?

For roughly two days I’ve been working on that Thinkpad T490s. It’s a lovely machine, I like many things about it, but its age of roughly six years starts to show: Stuff takes time and eight gigs of memory doesn’t seem to be enough these days.
Now I’m thinking about getting a more powerful machine, better CPU, more memory — upgrading the memory isn’t an option, unfortunately. But most laptops are either expensive or ugly as hell.
