   TIL that my school prepared this document about differences in the student experience between high school and college, and…it’s pretty good!

   It’s somewhat Macalester-specific, and details will vary: class sizes will be larger at a state school; things may tend a •bit• more toward “reproduce the skill as modeled” in a BS program instead of a BA. Their description of high school will fit some more than others, of course. Still, I suspect much of it holds broadly true.

   A good doc for you to look at if you’re a high school student, or share if you know one heading for college.

     Yeah. The good news is that everyone at Mac is pretty damned committed to keeping its diverse and international spirit alive. The president was just saying earlier in the week — pretty close to hear exact words, I think — “We are not going to change who we are” in response to changing administration. But we’re certainly going to be swimming upstream to do that. And we have to reckon with the possibility that it may not be possible for many students to safely return to campus next fall.

     @inthehands My favorite thing about Mac was meeting students and professors from all over the world. I hate to think what the current political climate will do to that.
