I just became aware of this cart - was the last SNES RPG Square made. It was the SaGa (Osaka) team behind it, apparently had a great deal of player agency, with several paths having a big impact on the final outcome.
Composer was the god behind Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.
@SilverDeth@p I remember the spellcasting system, where you'd input "magic words" and the game does some sort of hash function to decide its effect, cost, power, etc.
So of course you input the funny gamer words and sometimes this makes the gamer words fly across the screen in huge letters while annihilating the enemies.
I did like its core gimmick of being a single overarching story told from multiple POVs concurrently. Soundtrack is indeed excellent.
@Kusojiji@freesoftwareextremist.com@SilverDeth@fsebugoutzone.org@p@fsebugoutzone.org I remember Loom having a spell mechanic based on short music phrases, you could find new spells by listening to sounds in the game world, to achieve reverse effect of the spell you had to play the notes in reverse order. On hard difficulty you had to use your ear to figure out spells, on easier the notes were additionally colour coded making it a bit easier.
