I am scheming with some co-conspirators to feed fried rice to people at work at breakfast. Asian heritage month: you gotta eat rice.

@skinnylatte I am following your food posts with attention so that I can forward them to the resident college student who does most of his own cooking and enjoys rice and spicy food (sometimes too spicy for me; I would expect not so for you).

@skinnylatte Isn't fried rice a bit excessive for breakfast though?

@nazokiyoubinbou no, it’s a common breakfast dish throughout Asia

@skinnylatte Huh. Ok. I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to food. ... Anywhere...

@nazokiyoubinbou ‘light’ ‘breakfast food’ is a regional preference, one I personally dislike. Literally wake up every morning (7am now) *needing* rice)

@nazokiyoubinbou fried rice is a common breakfast coz you’re taking leftover rice and frying it up. It’s a whole culture in the Philippines (different names for diff fried rice with diff sides for brekkie)
I wouldn’t say it’s something I have all the time (since there are also hundreds of other rice and noodle dishes to choose from) but it wouldn’t be a surprising one.
Also, home fried rice is not greasy at all

@skinnylatte Well, it was the fried component I was wondering about. Rice in the morning I absolutely understand. I don't really eat breakfast (just a weird thing I have, not regional or otherwise) but I imagine those carbs can really help one power through the early hours.
