Say in documentation I'm trying to express the idea of there being a particular revision/minor revision of a programming language's *specification*— as distinct from the software that runs/compiles the language. What words are an option here?

"Edition"?
"Dialect"?

Can you think of anything else? Punny suggestions invited.
