   wish i could watch the annular eclipse. sounds awesome.

   one of my #momGoals was to watch an #eclipse with my sons and i did a few years ago here in nyc.

   my nerdlette home was in front of a playground. i loved lying on the floor at night, to count the stars with my mom or dad or brother or us all. was fun to cheer the ocassional meteor.

   they're Ancestors now. i miss them terribly.

   my long-gone life with them are memories i get to humbly gift to my sons & the world.

     the deal of the Northern Hemisphere being up is a head-game made up by those who think they're up so that those of us who think we're down, keep on thinking we're down. worse, if we keep on believing we're down, we're going to stay down. so from now on, dafuggouttahere!

     was not feeling the annular #eclipse map that only includes USA. in the link i posted above, under the embedded eclipse simulation, there is a link that says "View Full Screen"

     look at how beautifully the artists rendered the paths of the eclipse:

     1) they calculated their widths
     2) colored them with a violet-black
     3) then changed the opacity by the degree of visibility. so 35% visibility = 35% opacity

     more at the ALT!

     LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED AND HELPFUL THIS MAP IS!!!

     and this is totally a subtoot for anybody in engineering who thinks the principles of ART are not TECHNÉ.

     there is no technology without art and this #NASA interactive celestial map of the Earth is now your new bar to reach.

     also, i now have to correct the previous toot. it goes from 35% to 60% to 85% visibility in the middle.

     this map also shows the elliptical path over parts of Perú and Bolivia.

     that curvature is 💯

     here is the same #NASA #eclipse simulation but zoomed out, to see more of Earth in Space:

     they've expanded the graphic metaphor of the #eclipse's path: it's that purple that i talked about at the top of the thread.

     look how the "light" of the eclipse is that purple that's hitting the Americas: from northwestern North America to all of Central America and The Caribbean to the northern half of South America.

     but w/o the curves, it wouldn't give us the whole story.
