   I think the thing that upsets me most is seeing all these Trump voters regret their Trump vote because their retirement accounts are tanking.
   It hurts my soul that so many people didn't care what happened to people who aren't them, or worse, wanted the cruelty, and then cry when consequences hit them.

   Selfishness and self-centeredness is why our country is a disaster.

     From stealing land from indiginous people, to owning humans, to child labor, to capitalism, to poor handling of a pandemic to keep profits up...

     From it's founding to it's in-progress collapse, America is built on, ran on, and will now fall because of, selfishness and self-centeredness.
     It's all many forms of "people who aren't me aren't worth anything".

     It's disgusting. This country, this society, disgusts me.

     You can't have empathy for people who look different than you, if you've been taught for your entire life that those people are subhuman. (Even thought that word was never explicitly stated.)
