   Trump believes the only people who have any agency are Putin, Kim Jong Un, and maybe Rupert Murdoch

   It's not that he thinks everyone else isn't entitled to agency, it's that he believes them to be what the douchebros call NPCs. The surprise when reality doesn't confirm to his delusion is genuine

     Maybe the dumbest Trump has ever seemed—and, good god, that’s a low bar—is getting upset about retaliatory tariffs.

     I think he’s genuinely, idiotically surprised that anyone is punching back when he punches them in the face. And I’m not sure I can even give him credit anymore for animal instinct.
